Our take
A broad, regulated loan marketplace worth investigating for lender-level comparison. The €25 needs at least €1,500 invested and held to day 90 — fund by bank transfer or the fee eats it.

Mintos is a regulated Latvian investment platform with a long history in loan investing. Its wider product range should not obscure how loan-backed investments work: the outcome still depends on borrowers, lending companies, contractual structures and recovery processes. A familiar brand and a broad menu do not make every product equally liquid or equally risky.
For a reader comparing P2P platforms, Mintos offers a potentially useful range of economic exposures. For a reader arriving for a signup reward, the important work is to establish which campaign applies and how much capital must remain invested to qualify.
What are Mintos loan investments?
Mintos's Notes are securities providing exposure to pools of underlying loans. Its help page describes €50 as the minimum for a Set of Notes on the Primary Market. That is a loan-product minimum, not a minimum that applies to every asset on the platform. [T1]
The platform also offers other investment types. Our scope here is primarily loans and the incentive journey. An ETF, a high-yield bond and a loan Note should not be placed under one undifferentiated “P2P return” heading.
Read the prospectus, Final Terms and KID for the selected security. These identify the parties and claims behind the investment. A large number of underlying loans can help with borrower-level diversification while leaving substantial exposure to the same lending company.
Regulation and compensation
Latvijas Banka lists AS Mintos Marketplace as an investment firm. Mintos's investor-protection page explains client-asset segregation and a compensation scheme for specified failures to return financial instruments or client money, up to €20,000. It excludes investment-performance and liquidity losses. [T2], [T3]
This distinction is crucial for loan investing. If a lending company stops paying and the Note loses value, the existence of a regulated platform does not convert the investment into a protected deposit.
The practical question is whether the terms, underwriting and diversification of the chosen exposure make sense to you—not whether the site displays a regulator's logo.
Manual and automated investing have different costs
The current price page distinguishes:
| Loan investment method | Published platform charge |
|---|---|
| Manual loans | No investing fee listed |
| Core Loans and legacy loan portfolios | 0.39% annually |
| Custom Loans portfolio | 0.29% annually |
Source: [T4]. Product documents and current account pricing still need checking before investing.
Automation saves the work of placing each order. Its cost should be compared with the time saved and the investment controls available, rather than assumed to be zero because manual investing is free.
On a simplified constant €1,500 balance, 0.39% is €5.85 over a year. That is an illustration of the fee rate, not a prediction of annual costs for a changing portfolio. Returns and withdrawals can change the fee base.
Other costs that affect the bonus calculation
Mintos's help centre lists 2% for card, Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits, 0.85% of sale price for Secondary Market sales, and currency-exchange fees starting at 0.50%. Recovery costs can be deducted from amounts recovered. [T5]
Bank funding and withdrawals are listed as free on the public price page. [T4] Use the exact payment route and any documented promotional waiver to calculate costs.
For example, a 2% fee on a €1,500 card deposit is €30, already larger than a €25 signup bonus. A visitor can therefore qualify for a headline reward and still lose money on the acquisition transaction before investment performance or tax is considered.
That is why the funding method matters as much as the qualification amount.
The €25 affiliate offer
Mintos's official help page describes €25 for new investors registering through an affiliate tracking link. Our summary: invest at least €1,500 in eligible products within 30 days of registration and keep at least €1,500 invested through 90 days after registration; payment follows within five business days after the holding period. Smart Cash does not qualify, and the offer cannot be combined with personal referrals or another bonus code. [T6]
Confirm on the platform that the €25 campaign applies to your registration.
GO- codes and the expired €500 campaign
The current GO- help article has a different structure: registration and investment in the same calendar month, tiers starting at €1,500 for €15, and a 90-day no-withdrawal period starting at month-end. Higher tiers reach €350 on €25,000. [T7]
The INVEST26 campaign offered up to €500 but its registration/investment period ended 30 September 2026. An unexpired help page and a future payment date do not reopen eligibility for a visitor signing up in October. [T8]
One confirmed offer governs each signup route. Combining the lowest threshold from one campaign, the highest reward from another and the shortest holding period from a third would create an offer nobody can actually claim.
Cash out and the Secondary Market are different exit routes
Mintos describes a portfolio cash-out mechanism for Core Loans and legacy portfolios, selling to other investors using the relevant portfolio without a separate cash-out fee. The Secondary Market is another route, with buyer demand, possible price discounts and the seller fee. Suspended or defaulted lending-company investments cannot necessarily be traded. [T9]
This means the existence of a cash-out button does not establish that every euro can be withdrawn at any moment. A troubled exposure can remain in the portfolio after the readily saleable investments have left it.
Read the rate together with its exit assumptions. A slightly lower yield on an exposure you understand may be preferable to a higher quoted rate whose recovery and liquidity you cannot assess. That is a comparison of trade-offs, not a promise that any particular loan is safe.
Overdue funds deserve explicit treatment
Mintos's September 2026 help article directs investors in Nera Capital and IDF Eurasia loan exposures to the account's Overdue section for updates. That is official evidence of relevant delayed-payment situations, but not an independent view of the latest recovery prospects. [T10]
Specialist reviews from re:think P2P and P2P Empire examine lender failures, recoveries and the limitations of platform risk scores. Their work helps identify where a headline yield can diverge from a realised investor result. [T11], [T12]
We do not use one reviewer portfolio's return as a forecast for a new visitor. A portfolio's start date, lender allocation, write-offs and treatment of overdue funds all affect the result.
Inactivity after the bonus
The inactivity help page describes €4.90 monthly charges under a combination of conditions, including 360 days without investment, sale, deposit or withdrawal activity. There are asset-holding, overdue, balance and account-status exceptions; logging in alone is not one of the listed qualifying actions. [T13]
A reader planning to stop investing after an incentive should understand the account's remaining positions and servicing obligations. Turning off automation does not automatically recover outstanding principal, and ignoring a small cash balance can be different from closing an account.
Our preliminary assessment
Mintos is worth investigating for readers who want loan investing with more choice and are willing to compare underlying lenders and costs. The breadth of the platform is useful only when translated into actual exposure diversification.
It is a poor fit for a quick bonus round trip with guaranteed principal access. The reward qualification, loan maturity and practical exit route are separate constraints. The strongest signup proposition is transparent access to a chosen product and a clearly confirmed bonus—not the largest promotional number found in a search result.
Frequently asked questions
Does Smart Cash count for the €25 affiliate offer?
The reviewed campaign says no. [T6]
Is the €500 INVEST26 campaign still open?
No for a new October signup: its published entry window ended on 30 September 2026. [T8]
Are all Mintos loans fee-free?
Manual loan investing and automated portfolio pricing differ. Check the method you intend to use. [T4]
Can I exit a defaulted Note through the Secondary Market?
Not necessarily. Mintos explicitly limits trading in suspended/defaulted lending-company exposures. [T9]
