Our take
Higher-risk: related-party credit without a financial-services licence and a historical going-concern warning in the group audit. Only for investors who can assess that.

Hive5 offers claim-right investments linked to lending companies in Hive Finance Group. The attraction is access to consumer and business lending without running a lending business yourself. The decision still depends heavily on the group's ability to service its obligations. [V1]
The partner offer adds 1% cashback for investors over 90 days. Before treating that as a reason to register, read the group's financial reporting and the contractual buyback obligation. A reward is not a substitute for that work. [CW-V]
What you own
Hive5's current site explains that investors purchase claim rights linked to an existing loan or financing agreement rather than necessarily lending directly to the end consumer. Its product descriptions distinguish consumer lending and business financing of group companies. [V1]
This distinction prevents a misleading picture of diversification. An investment linked to financing a lending business can depend on that company's wider operations, not simply on a small individual consumer repayment.
Even where claims cover different countries and borrower types, related lending companies can share funding and operational risks. Hive5 itself identifies group concentration in its transparency material. Counting investment lines alone can overstate the spread of risk. [V2]
Financial-services regulation
Hive5 explicitly states that it is not regulated under a financial-services licence. It also says investments are not bank deposits and are not covered by a deposit guarantee or investor compensation scheme. The current legal company disclosure names Hive5 marketplace d.o.o. in Croatia. [V3]
This is a more accurate description than “EU regulated” based on the company's European location. It also should not be turned into a claim that the business is necessarily unlawful: the licensing position and applicable law depend on the service. Investors should understand the protections they do and do not receive.
The audit warning is material
Hive Finance's published FY2024 consolidated audit contains an unmodified opinion together with a Material Uncertainty Relating to Going Concern section. The consolidated balance sheet shows total equity of −€1.274 million at 31 December 2024. The auditor's going-concern paragraph, which refers readers to Note 22, rounds this to “negative at EUR 1.28 million”, and Hive5's April 2026 results overview states €1.27 million. The small difference is rounding in the source documents, not a change in the accounts; we re-read the PDF on 20 October 2026. [V4, V7]
That is a historical, group-level financial finding. It is not proof that Hive5 is currently insolvent or that a particular investor will lose money. It does mean that “audited accounts” cannot be used as an uncomplicated safety badge. An unmodified opinion and a going-concern warning can coexist.
Our interpretation is that investors need to examine the subsequent funding position, the relevant lending company's finances and how any buyback could be financed under stress. A profitable period alone does not settle those questions.
What buyback actually promises
The current public explanation says the relevant lender must repurchase claim rights and accrued interest when a payment is more than 60 days overdue. It explicitly says this depends on the lender's capacity to perform. [V1]
The partner campaign description instead uses “zero-late-loan policy” and immediate repayment language. We would not reproduce that stronger promise. The selected investment agreement needs to establish the actual trigger and responsible company. [CW-V]
A buyback trigger defines when an obligation becomes due. It does not prove the obligated party will have cash at that time. Group support can reduce an isolated problem but can also weaken alongside several related lenders.
The partner investor reward
The partner offer shows 1% cashback during the first 90 days. On €1,000 of eligible investment the simple percentage calculation is €10, subject to the campaign's actual calculation base and exclusions. It does not settle the cap, credit timing, withdrawal restrictions or stacking. [CW-V]
We would not add a public or another publisher's temporary promotion to this amount without the applicable terms. Nor would we use the reward to imply that repayment or buyback has been independently verified.
The partner material's country wording is also unclear and should not be treated as a reliable allowed-country list. Confirm your country on the platform.
Selling before maturity
Hive5's current site describes a live Secondary Market and makes clear that sale timing depends on investor demand. It can provide an option to seek a buyer, not a guaranteed payment date. We have not tested execution or established every applicable selling fee. [V1]
That is another reason to distinguish the repayment schedule from the 90-day reward period. Turning off Auto Invest stops new allocations; it does not itself sell or repay existing claims.
Our view
Hive5 may warrant further investigation by investors who can assess related-party credit and accept the absence of a financial-services licence. The audit warning, lender concentration and buyback capacity belong in the main decision, not hidden after a signup button.
Frequently asked questions
Does the audit warning mean Hive5 is insolvent?
No. It is a historical, group-level finding for FY2024. It does mean audited accounts are not a simple safety badge.
When does buyback apply?
The current explanation says the lender must repurchase when a payment is more than 60 days overdue, depending on its capacity to perform.
