Our take
Worth investigating if you will compare lending companies and keep the regulated and unregulated routes apart. The 1.5% is well defined; “net” still needs its definition.

Lendermarket offers both a regulated crowdfunding service and a claim-assignment service outside that framework. Its own Services Statement tells investors to distinguish them. A review that simply stamps the entire platform “regulated” misses the most important part of the product choice. [F1]
The partner campaign gives investors 1.5% of qualifying net invested funds over 90 days. To judge that offer, first establish which type of investment the route leads to, which company owes repayment and how long the funds can remain committed. [CW-F]
One company, different legal investments
Lendermarket Limited says it is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland under Regulation (EU) 2020/1503. Its published annual report identifies authorisation date 17 December 2024 and reference C513967. We have read the company's disclosures; a fresh direct match of the entry in the supervisor's register remains outstanding. [F2]
Under the crowdfunding service, an investor can enter a Limited Recourse or Limited Purpose Loan Agreement with the originator and platform. The January 2026 Services Statement describes funding the originator through an unsecured loan. It distinguishes the repayment mechanics of those two agreements. [F1]
Under the claim-assignment service, the investor instead acquires a claim deriving from an underlying loan. Lendermarket expressly says this activity is not covered by the Crowdfunding Regulation and does not benefit from its safeguards. The platform labels listed loans “Regulated Service” or “Unregulated Service” to identify the route. [F1]
A buyback feature can appear in both. It does not make the structures legally identical or transfer the crowdfunding protections to the assignment service.
What pays the return?
The platform gives access to lending businesses and loan exposures. Its current originator descriptions include consumer lenders in Europe and Latin America, and Gatelink's business financing of lending companies. The last example should not be presented as direct consumer lending simply because it appears on the same marketplace. [F3]
The useful work is to map the debtor and repayment source for the selected agreement. If you lend to an originator, its wider financing and liquidity matter. If you acquire a particular claim, the agreement still determines the originator's and servicer's responsibilities when the underlying borrower fails.
Several originators may look diversified while remaining connected to one lending group. An investor holding Creditstar-related claims on several platforms should examine the combined exposure rather than count each account as an independent asset class.
Buyback and financial reporting
A contractual buyback obligation is a claim against the party that promises to perform. It is strongest when that party has sufficient liquidity and capital when a buyback becomes due. It is not a public compensation scheme.
The platform's risk disclosure warns that some companies' financial information may be unaudited or unavailable. We have not independently verified every current originator's solvency or the recovery priority of each agreement. [F4]
This calls for comparisons of current accounts, overdue balances, funding maturities and the legal limits on recourse. An attractive coupon can coexist with a long period of delayed payments. A platform interface showing accrued interest does not itself settle the collectability of that amount.
The 1.5% partner campaign
The partner campaign describes a 1.5% investor bonus on Net Invested Funds during the first 90 days after successful validation. Payment is stated to occur within five business days after the period ends, with no stacking with other campaigns. [CW-F]
For a hypothetical €1,000 qualifying net investment the percentage is €15. The final agreement needs to define “net,” the validation date, eligible service and products, and the effect of repayments or withdrawals. We would not use the gross amount ever deposited as the calculation base without that definition.
Getting the principal back
The 90 days governs the bonus calculation; it does not establish an unconditional redemption right. The investment's maturity, repayment schedule and any permitted exit feature determine access. The Services Statement also says optional products such as Auto Invest FLEX can differ by legal service. [F1]
Do not transfer flexibility advertised for one optional arrangement to every listed loan. We have not tested a funded account, executed a resale or established a universal immediate exit. Check the full current fee schedule and product-specific documentation before investing.
Our assessment
Lendermarket is worth investigating for investors willing to compare lending companies and distinguish the two legal services. Its disclosure of the difference is useful. Keep that difference in mind all the way through to the chosen investment.
