Our take
A distinctive private-credit angle on gaming finance. Understand secured loan claims versus unsecured parent bonds before the 1%; Early Exit is not liquidity.
On this page · 9 sections
TD Funding gives retail investors exposure to financing connected with video-game businesses. Its current product range needs a more careful description than “gaming loans”: the platform markets both claims related to senior secured lending and claim interests in unsecured senior bonds of its UK parent. Those are different credit investments. [T1]
The partner campaign gives investors a 1% benefit for 60 days. That is partner evidence; we have not seen it confirmed in a published investor-facing contract. A separate additional 2% uplift ended on 1 March 2026 and is not part of the current offer. [CW-T]
Which part of gaming finance are you buying?
Triple Dragon Funding S.a.r.l. is the Luxembourg platform entity, registration B301533. Its current terms (dated 18 December 2025) use assignment agreements through which investors purchase claims. [T2]
Under the forthcoming terms effective 22 October 2026, TD Funding 2025 Limited (UK company 16745939) is named as the Originator, and TD Funding SARL assigns claims to investors as principal. Buyback and early-exit obligations are placed on the Originator, not on the platform itself. These are future terms: they do not apply retroactively before 22 October. [T5] The selected transaction documents need to identify the assignor, the underlying obligation and the investor's enforcement rights. [T2]
For a financing agreement linked to a gaming studio, repayment can depend on receipts, receivables or the studio's wider business. Commercial success, distribution arrangements and the timing of payments can affect cash flow. A well-known game's logo does not mean its owner guarantees your investment.
The platform's August 2026 announcement separately introduces TD Bonds as direct unsecured senior obligations of Triple Dragon Limited. It describes the platform selling claim interests in previously issued bonds under a prospectus exemption. This should not be described as direct retail ownership of a fully secured studio loan. [T1]
Regulation and exemptions
The published materials refer to applicable law and an EU Prospectus Regulation exemption. We have not verified an ECSP or investment-firm authorisation for the platform. Any stated intention to apply for a Luxembourg licence is an intention, not a licence granted. Company registration, a legally described exemption and a regulated investment-service licence are different facts. [T1, T2]
An exemption from publishing a prospectus does not itself insure an investment or establish a government-approved yield. Check the precise legal route, eligible countries and final claim documents before investing.
Nor does senior ranking mean a secured claim. The bond announcement describes a negative pledge, intended to constrain higher-ranking secured debt. That is not the same as a mortgage or charge already held for investors. [T1]
Parent, platform and buyback exposure
The company describes buyback support associated with the relevant structures. It must be assessed as an obligation of named counterparties, not as an independent insurer. From 22 October 2026 the new terms make that obligation the Originator's (TD Funding 2025 Limited), so its own resources are what matter. [T5] If the platform, parent and support vehicle rely on the same business cash flows, their difficulties can be correlated.
Read what triggers buyback, which amounts are covered and whether the obligor has resources outside the same loan book. We have not independently audited the current capacity of every entity or the enforceability of each security package.
The distinction matters especially when comparing the new bonds with underlying studio-finance claims. A corporate funding instrument can introduce a different use of proceeds and creditor position even if both appear in the same account.
Rates and product-specific cashback
The August announcement describes 14% for the new bonds, with 1% or 2% cashback depending on a two- or three-year tenor. It also announces a reduction to 13.5% for certain senior-secured-loan claim assets from 14 August. These are dated, product-specific terms, not a guaranteed platform-wide return available on every investment today. [T1]
The partner investor offer is a separate acquisition campaign. On a hypothetical €1,000 fully qualifying base, a one-off 1% would be €10; the exact campaign must establish that calculation base, eligible investments, credit date and withdrawability. We do not add the bond cashback or the expired March uplift. [CW-T]
Early Exit is not a promise of liquidity
The official early-exit article says the feature is not a Secondary Market and requests are not guaranteed to be met. It also states that once an early exit is processed, later Affiliate/Invitee bonus transactions stop. Using Early Exit can therefore end a bonus you were still expecting. [T3]
The new-bond announcement gives further product-specific conditions for activating its Early Exit feature. Do not transfer the exit availability of an older asset to every newly offered bond claim. [T1]
An investor should be able to tolerate the contractual term and a potential recovery process rather than depend on a voluntary exit request. A higher coupon can be earned only if the responsible parties perform; daily interest crediting does not make principal daily liquid.
Our assessment
TD Funding offers a distinctive business-finance angle for readers prepared to examine private credit. The secured-loan and unsecured-bond routes should be understood before any incentive. Sector familiarity is useful only when it leads to analysis of actual debt rights and cash flows.
Frequently asked questions
Is the welcome bonus 3%?
No. The current partner offer is 1% for 60 days; the separate 2% uplift ended on 1 March 2026.
What changes on 22 October 2026?
TD Funding announced new terms of use (version 20261015) effective 22 October 2026. In them, TD Funding 2025 Limited (UK company 16745939) is the Originator and TD Funding SARL assigns claims as principal; buyback and early-exit obligations sit with the Originator, not the platform. Until that date the terms dated 18 December 2025 apply.
Are TD Bonds secured?
No. They are described as unsecured senior obligations with a negative pledge, which is not a mortgage or charge.
